Mass Effect 2 Secrets Revealed
12 hours 12 mins ago
Well, they're confirmed to exist! That's all we know for now. Maybe there will be more details on this week's Pokemon Sunday (around Saturday late night). And now, a translation of a Japanese Yahoo! page from Pokebeach.com:
We learned on the 7th that "Pocket Monsters Gold and Silver," the second entry in the popular RPG series, originally released on the Gameboy system in November of 1999, will be remade for the Nintendo DS this autumn under the titles "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver." New elements will be added in this tenth anniversary return to the Johto Region.
A continuation of the original series (Pocket Monsters Red, Green, Blue, and Pikachu), Gold and Silver recorded remarkable sales of 23,000,000 copies worldwide. It introduced monsters that hadn't appeared in the gameboy games, along with various new features.
Red and Green, the first games of the Pokemon series, were remade for the Gameboy Advance in 2004 as "Fire Red and Leaf Green," making this the second set of remakes. While Red and Green had fantastic upgrades in their transition from Gameboy to Gameboy Advance, this time the games are skipping the Gameboy Advance and going directly from Gameboy to DS. So they will almost certainly have drastically upgraded graphics and sound. Details will be released on the official site shortly.
Currently in development for the Nintendo DS are the newest entries in the Pokemon series: "Pocket Monsters HeartGold and SoulSilver." Taking place in the Johto region, the games will be upgraded with all of the series' current features and will also be paced with brand new features. This year marks the tenth anniversary of "Pocket Monsters Gold and Silver"'s release on the original gameboy, so its revival is only fitting. Since its release in 1999, the game has sold over 23,000,000 copies worldwide.

I can't wait to get my hands on these games.
Heart Gold GET
this just keeps getting more ridiculous.
But what is with the incredibly shite names? They didn't even give them new names, just added heart and soul to gold and silver.
I'm looking at you FFVII fanboys
Seeing as I sold mine YEARS ago, I would love to pick it up.
I can't wait for it, please don't change to much (fighting in 2 regions kicked ass)
Would be nice to have a refined version to turn to for us old school Pokemon fans.
Example: Janine replaced Koga.
I'll probably get this, because i get all pokemon handheld games for old times sake, Playing the gold/silver land for the first time in 6 years will be fun, but i'm worried i won't want to play half the game because it'd be set in an area i've already treaded to death in Red/blue, Gold/silver and Fire/leaf and know like the back of my hand.
By the way, i'm not making a big deal with it, i just mentioned my small gripe at the Kanto regeon being remade for the 4rd time, and you 3 jumped on my back for it. So whos making the big deal here?
You could easily say that Firered and Leafgreen certainly were not needed, as Kanto had already been done twice by that point.
MORE can be added to both regions at once thanks to the DS card (with a theoretical maximum of 1GB).
Of course they will do something wrong, this is too good to work out well.

There's a couple of pokemon articles on IGN, loosely related if people are anxious for something to read
http://www.cubed3.com/news/12250
and some screenshots. Lookin good
And by that I mean, choosing the best poke's, natures, iv's,ev's, it's basically a whole tournament I beleive.
Then again I sort of forgot, I havn't played pokemon in almost a year, but Its where the battles are really intense, and you think strategically in how your gonna win.
In fact there are some people who can automatically tell that they'll win or lose before a match has even started, by just seeing 1 or 2 pokemons. (As in they have every move and counter attack planned).
How can the video be METAGAME then, I dont understand that one man.
Whilst a base concept it may not seem different to the in-game gameplay, in the in-game storyline you can beat the game simply by levelling up Pokemon and giving them good moves. Try that in competetive play and you'll be eaten alive, there's a whole different 'side' to the game when you get into the competetive, from the mechanics involve in raising a Pokemon to be useful in the competetive enviroment, building teams, plotting movesets, thinking about what Pokemon appear most in teh current enviroment and how your team can handle it, ect.
It's not really easy to explain and unless you plan to get into competetive Pokemon I really wouldn't waste the time trying to figure it out.
Hope that gives you some basic idea of it, if you do want to learn more I'd suggest looking up a proper explanation from somewhere like Smogon.
OPEN SESAMEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no worries anyway, if Reenee wouldnt mind elaborating on what they meant, wherever you are, that'd help man.
Oh great, I just read the possible release dates, I can't wait till 2010, I'll think I'll have a heart attack by then!
I need my beautiful Togepi now!
I had a thought yeh imagine if they did like an adjustable camera in this, like in animal crossing; where you can drag it overhead top view or down like an over the shoulder view. doubt it'll happen, but it'd remedy the problem of visibility if you could chop and change like that.
But yeah, I kinda meant using current gen technology. I think it would be quite epic if they put effort into it.
