It's no secret that the Xbox 360 isn't selling quite as well as the PS3 and Wii in Japan. So in order to bump sales, Japanese retailer 'Messe Sanoh' are handing out these free catalogues that list the benefits of owning a 360 over other consoles (namely the PS3), complete with obligatory cute anime character...

The cover reads, "Xbox 360 over PS3 if you are picking multi-platform games." At the bottom of this pamphlet, there's the Xbox 360 console line up — with little quips about each console. For example, next to the Xbox 360 Arcade, it reads, "Half the PS3's price!"

The catalogue's inside lists multi-platform likes like previous Xbox 360 exclusive Tales of Vesperia and then points out why the Xbox 360 version is better. According to this, those reasons are things like pricing, Xbox LIVE and Achievements. (Hey, it's got stellar HDD installs!)

If all it's showing is for the most part, multi-platform titles then it isn't exactly doing the best it could be. If I was this retailer, I'd toss in some of the exclusives as well. Exclusives = better argument. I'm sure Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery would help in the Japanese crowd, and toss in a few other titles like say the Halo series and whatever else and THEN you have a better argument to get people to buy a 360.

Anyway, I get that the anime character is meant to help advertise the 360 in the Japanese market but... seriously, isn't it just a tad overboard? She's got Xbox crosses in her eyes for crying out loud and a USB cord for a tail.

Does it have reviews for the games though? I didn't see anything about it in the article.

It's no good to just show one picture from a game without anything else about the game. People will just skip over it.
