Almost every game this generation is getting a sequel nowadays, and why not? If you had a good formula, build off of it. Well with the ending Dead Space had, and the much deeper story they can delve into who doesn't want a Dead Space 2!

Electronic Arts employee Patrik Patel has cheekily updated his LinkedIn profile - revealing he’s working as a Technical/Development Director for Dead Space 2. Call us “obvious” but we’d assume the project has to be rolling before work can begin.

Perhaps we’ll see something at E3. Although don’t hold your breath. It’s unlikely this game will see the light of day until next year.

I was under the impression that EA confirmed sequels to various titles from 2008 including Dead Space awhile ago?

Good news anyway, even though I wasn't overly fond of Dead Space.

With EA a sequel is confirmed as soon as the first game sells well.

True enough, but I mean an actual article mentioned about 4 upcoming games that were expected to be hits, were already beginning development on sequels.

Best news for me! Selling my 360 and my PS3-Wii-PS2-PS1-GC shooting games to start collecting horror games only.

So this title will be a fantastic addition to my passion/collection when it arrives instores! Hope its as good as the first.

They said they were working on the sequel from the moment they finished the original, I think I made a thread with an older announcement in the Dead Space forum(360) some time ago.
