Despite the absence of Tomonobu Itagaki, the creator of the 3D Ninja Gaiden games, Team Ninja has said it will go on with the franchise despite his wishes and the conflicts which befell the studio early last year.

More, the third game in the series will likely head straight to the Xbox 360 and PS3 simultaneously, delivering the same experience to both console owners.

Despite former Team Ninja boss Tomonobu Itagaki having previously stated that Ninja Gaiden II would be the final entry in the series, Hayashi told us in no uncertain terms: "we will continue to work towards a future for the series."

He added: "What the gamers are looking for is going to be the next chapter - the future of an outstanding series. We feel that we're in a position of being able to make that call... That calling is already there - we feel it".

Meh couldn't care anymore tbh with you.

Think its piss poor of them to bring out Sigma 2 yet not give the 360 owners anything extra for Ninja Gaiden 2.

Who cares really... This happens all the time, Xbox 360 have their fair share of exclusive treats. It's about time to be honest Sony and it's customers got some nice things.

And to think Itagaki wanted to end the series with II, I bet Tecmo are glad he's gone.

Hopefully we won't have to see a dozen dreaded ports/remakes of NG2 by the time this releases.
