Sony only sold 127,000 PS3 in April, instead of revealing that in April's NPD Report, they concentrate on the future of PS3. They mention MAG and Uncharted plus other significant Sony franchises.

How many did 360 sell? About 30,000 more. Oh those sales are excellent![/sarcasm]
Seriously though, sales weren't really that bad, especially considering practically no worthwhile games released in April.
PS3 sales numbers aren't so bad considering that many of the potential buyers are still holding out for a price cut that they are expecting to happen soon.
And you could call it terrible in comparison to the DS which sold 913,000 more.
But I think the most interesting sales figure is for the Wii with 340,000, that's 52.38% less than 2008. And the PSP isn't selling so hot any more either, it had a 39.90% drop, so if anything the story should be about why the newest PSPs sales are stumbling.
I can't see a price drop until much much later, the ps3 production costs are about break even at the moment. Sony just reported a $1 billion dollar loss or the fiscal year, therefore a $100 price drop is gonna send them even further into the red. If sony sell 10 million units at a $100 dollar loss they lose another billion dollars, in this recession they just can't afford to do it. Unless production costs are reduced
