Microsoft recently implemented a dashboard update which effectively banned Xbox 360 consoles featuring any sort of firmware modification from accessing Xbox Live. However, the modding community demonstrates its craftiness and have since released a new firmware hack which allows the consoles to sidestep Xbox Live's anti-piracy measures. The catch is that consoles already barred from accessing Xbox Live (because of the firmware mod detection) remain out of luck, even with the newest hack.
