Very recently, Walmart has installed vending machines that allow you to trade in your used games for store credit. The process is simple, just scan the barcode of your game and you are awarded the credit. There are some bugs though, such as games not being in the database.

Just a few hours ago, I went to the one near my house and was quite surprised at what I saw. Apparently they had a installed a new vending machine less than a day ago which allows you to trade in your used PS2, PS3, X-Box, 360 and Wii games.

The machine looks extremely similiar to the Redbox DVD rental machines. When I went to use the machine, however, it still had more than a few bugs that need fixing. The first issue occurs right after you login. When logging in, you are asked to scan your games. However once you do so, there is a glitch that logs you out immidiately entering your information. After you log back in, the issue seems to repeats itself.

Thirty says you're both right! They'll repackage/resell as new the games they don't like, and replace the ones they do like with cardboard (so they can keep the games themselves) and sell them as new!

I wonder if they've locked in a deal with GameFly or GameStop perhaps. This could be a good way to pick up some of the game market, and who knows - maybe GameStop will start offering more than 30 cents for their trade-ins!

Hell yeah, this is the way I see it, as a really really good thing. Can't wait to see what competition will do.

Seriously, who wants to spend 60$ on a game only to find out that its a piece of shit, and want to return it, but Gamestop will only give you 10$ back. WTF is wrong with Gamestop and wal-mart! I've hated wal-mart ever since Twilight Princess came out on the wii. I ordered the game months before it came out, then the day it came out, they said that they didn't have enough and cancelled my order.

I would think $10 back is better than nothing at that point.
