Xbox Live fans who cheat, not only will have their scores reset to zero, but will also have a bit of text placed on their gamercard telling others that they are cheaters. This is according to Stephen Toulouse, the Xbox Live Policy and Enforcement manager.

Xbox Live cheaters have received yet another blow as Stephen Toulouse, the Xbox Live Policy and Enforcement manager stated that not only would cheaters on XBL have their scores reset to zero, but their gamercard will also be labeled with a bit of text/symbol saying you are a cheat.

This is good for the other gamers. But doesn't really fix anything. Why are they letting them still play on XBOX live if Micro$oft has such a strict policy?

Simple: Microsoft charges money for Xbox live. If they ban them, they get no money.

What if someone is wrongfully accused of being a cheater? They'd get their score reset for no reason, and that would suck.

This is old news, They did this with halo and have reset many scores before, and on their gamertag it says there a cheater.

I don't care what anyone says. This, to me, would be the best feature on XBL to date.

It still won't do anything to those people that drop out in the middle of a teams match . It's so annoying when my entire team drops out, forcing me to take on the entire enemy team all by myself !

I'd like it if I could make my GamerZone, Cheater. If it wasn't for the score reset, i'd do it now.

Kinda sounds like the video game equivalent of being a registered sex offender, pretty hilarious.

I actually read an article recently that said registered sex offenders would have to also register gamertags haha

Wait, so if a registered sex offender wanted to make an honest XBL account, they'd have to put that in their profile or something?

No, I think that they just have to tell the police what their account name is.

Yea, what slumpy said, though I have a hard time putting sex offender and "honest" anything in the same sentence.

"Cheaters"? Does he mean people who boost for acheivements?

No, boosters are just douchebags, but i'd estimate 90% of the XboxLive population are boosters and the other 9% have boosted atleast a few achievements at some point. Considering this, I don't think Microsoft are going to have the cahones to ban boosting.

But i'm sitting here with my 25k completely legit and only 1200 of which comes from easy achievement games (Alone in the Dark (It looked good in the demo) and Dash of Destruction (It was free!)), so i'm feeling pretty good about myself.

In theory its a good sounding plan, but when its implemented I can't see it being much use other than identifying hax

I like this idea, though I also wonder about those wrongfully accused of cheating.

I bet though people will become proud of their "Cheater" title. It makes them "special" and "different" from everyone else. Sort of like those who consider themselves rebels going against "the man."
