SquareEnix has announced that Nintendo's DSiWare service will be receiving an installment in the Dragon Quest series. The title, Dragon Quest Wars, will be a strategy game that pits monsters from the series against each other. The interesting feature of this game is that it offers 4 player multiplayer through Nintendo's Wi-fi service. Also, the game is being developed by Intelligent Systems, the party behind Paper Mario and the Fire Emblem games.

So far the title has been announced for a Japanese June release date and will be available for download for 500 DSi points. No word on an international release date just yet, but keep your eyes peeled for more information.

DSi Ware is getting some major support over in Japan. In fact, it's getting pretty much the biggest name in gaming over there: Dragon Quest.

Square Enix announced today a DSi Ware entry in the Dragon Quest series. Titled Dragon Quest Wars, the download-only title is a strategic board game in which players pit classic monsters from the series against one-another. The game will offer four player online play via Wi-Fi Connection.
