Old-school gamers will no doubt remember the Monkey Island series on the PC and various consoles from back in the day. The mainly point-and-click adventure games, featuring the pirate Guybrush Threepwood, were created by LucasArts and were known for their humor and gameplay. Well, rumor has it that the first title in the series could finally be seeing a revival on the 360. Considering that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is being re-released next month and Perfect Dark is also rumored to see a re-release, there is substantial hope for The Secret of Monkey Island.

The Secret of Monkey Island is considered by many to be the quintessential point and click adventure. It looks like Monkey Island is being dusted off and ported to the Xbox 360. GamerBytes is reporting that the German USK rating board has a listing for a Special Edition of the 1990 classic bound for Microsoft's console. It would seem a natural fit for Xbox Live Arcade, but the listing doesn't specify whether it will be downloadable or a retail release.

The German USK lists Activision as the Publisher of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, although the original game was published by LucasArts.
