CNET has just announced that Innex is working on an adapter for the Wii, which will plug into the Gamecube ports on the side of the console, which will allow gamers to plug in their old Nintendo 64, SNES, and NES controllers for the most accurate gameplay of Virtual Console titles.

This surely beats playing with Virtual Console games with the Wii remote, Gamecube controller, or VC controller.

CNET has learned that Innex plans to announce an adapter for the Wii that, when plugged into the Gamecube ports on the console, will allow users to plug in their own Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or Nintendo 64 controllers, to have the most accurate Virtual Console gameplay possible. Named the Komodo Retro Adapter, the device is shaped slightly like an old Nintendo 64 console.

A full announcement is expected at E3 in the coming weeks, with the device expecting to retail for around $20 online.

Sounds cool, but I'd rather go out and buy a classic controller than buy that and an N64 controller .

Well, it's a good deal if you're one of those people who still have their old N64/SNES/NES controller. I've still got all three. Unfortunately, I have three N64 controllers and the joysticks are broken on all three.

Kick. ASS! I'd love to use my old SNES controller again. I was always best at DK and Mario with it anyways. Now I just have to find them...

Oh yeah, when the hell is the Wii getting Mario Kart for the SNES!? I want that game damn it!

Who owns a N64 controller with the analogue stick still in any usable condition?

They are easily found in thrift stores, pawn shops, etc.

I have all four of my old N64 controllers. On one of them, the analog stick is a little lazy, where it will lean to one side or the other, but not enough to make much of a difference, especially when you have your thumb on it.

Sounds great tbh. Now all I need is to download some N64 VC games.

Pssh, I made my own adapter almost a year ago.

Glad to see someone is capitalizing on the idea though. Groovy, Smashing, Yay capitalism!
