In a case of the PS3 getting one up on the XBOX, Watchmen, the popular graphic novel turned feature film and game, is coming to the PS3 in a package deal sure to please fans and non-fans alike.

Parts 1 and 2 of Watchmen: The End is Nigh and the feature film are set to be released in a 2 disc special edition set for PS3 users. XBOX fans unfortunately miss out on the deal. They can however still purchase the game, along with the film, in it's parts.

The PlayStation 3’s Blu-ray drive has its advantages, as proven by the Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience, a two-disc set collecting the game and the film for the PlayStation 3.

While the Xbox 360 is getting Watchmen: The End is Nigh Parts 1 and 2 as a standalone retail release, the PlayStation 3 is getting a much more enticing release. The two-disc set combines the director’s cut of the Watchmen film with both parts of the downloadable game, with exclusive artwork thrown in for good measure. The director’s cut of the movie contains 25 minutes of footage not seen in theatres, but still no giant squid.

The releases will coincide with standard DVD release on July 21st, with The End is Nigh Part 2 also available as a standalone download on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

I don't quite understand how having the game and movie on separate disks is showing how blu-ray is advantageous.

I think it's just making the comment that the presence of a Blu-Ray drive could have influenced the decision to create this package for a gaming console.

Well personally I hated the Watchman movie. Didn't read the comics so I don't know anything else about Watchmen, and thus I had no desire to play a game based on a movie I despised.

So this does nothing to satisfy me or pique my interest. In fact, due to my feelings on watchmen, it kinda does the opposite!

    What's the price for it though? I didn't see a mention....No doubt it won't be cheap >_>

I was going to get the blu-ray director's cut of Watchmen when it came out anyways. If it doesn't cost more to get with the games, then I may as well pick it up.

The game alone was $20 for the first part......So I hope they don't think I'm going to pay $90 for both parts of the game and the movie.

I'm guessing an overall discount ranging from $10 to $20...

So it'll still be expensive, but if you want to get everything, it'll be more cost effective....

      Maybe....

The price im thinking up should be around a £30 region, I mean, even bundling an arcade game and a DVD isnt worth anything over that.
