Introducing the new Playstation Portable Go! was none other than Kaz Hirai. Here are the details mentioned about the next PSP version:

  • It is the worst kept secret of E3
  • Specifically designed for the digital lifestyle
  • It will NOT replace the PSP-3000, but will be marketed alongside it
  • 50% Smaller, and 40% Lighter than the original PSP-1000
  • Integrated Bluetooth (and Wireless)
  • Add even more memory with a memory port
  • Games can either downloaded through the Playstation Store, or bought from an actual store (this is all games from now on)

To make transferring content from the PC to the PSP easier, Media Go, the new PC Store has been announced.

The PSP Go will be releasing on October 22nd in the US and UK, at a price point similar to that of the original PSP ($249.99 & €249.99)

Definitely not something I'll get... love how it looks, but I need the physical media... hell it's the only reason I paid £15 for R&C:QfB when it was available from the store for £10....

If they announce a (normal) PSP Price Drop I may be encouraged further to buy it....

Kind of odd they have so many different versions with none replacing the other. I'm not to sure how well this will do.

Nope, the first two were replaced by their respective successors. The 3000 will stay on cause of the UMD drive.
I wonder how they sell digital content in an actual store. Maybe they copy it directly to the PSP? Cause selling by means of memsticks would be a ridiculous idea which would lead to piracy.

They wont sell it in store, unless the store actually gets the infrastructure for it. They will make you purchase them off the online store. It cuts out the middle man and gets sony more money.
