Earlier today, Nintendo announced the Wii Vitality Sensor. During the game, the sensor will be able to detect the gamer's pulse, which will then show the gamer how the body is feeling from within at the time.
Nintendo announced today that it was adding the Wii Vitality Sensor to the list of things one can attach to the Wii Remote. Nintendo's official announcement claims it will expand the appeal of video games.
How? Well, we're not quite sure yet, as we've not yet poked the Wii Vitality Sensor. But these beautifully unblemished, wrinkle-redacted hands have. Initially, Nintendo says, it will sense a user's pulse and "a number of other signals being transmitted by their bodies, and will then provide information to the users about the body's inner world."

Nintendo are not into gaming!
They are now an health fitness instructor!
Who knows, it might be used in survival horrors by judging what makes your heart jump.
Although, it does cost you losing joystick control with the left hand.
In the rountable discussion right now, Miyamoto said that he would to use it to know if you can control your pulse. For example, by doing Yoga. Judging by that, I'm guessing it's going to used alongside the new WiiFit Plus.
I still think it's ret@rded though.
Another great idea Nintendo won't go through with.

...but this is getting pretty god damn weird
But it can be, in games like shooters, games like AA where you need to calm yourself and steady your breathing to shoot right and all that stuff.
But . . . other than that, I can't see how this would be useful.
EDIT: So it's just to provide info mostly? Okay . . . so it's a home-based doctor's office? Aw man, I try to avoid the doctor, is it now coming to my house!?
While 360 has their version of 1 VS 100 coming, Nintendo could use this as a lie detector, and have their own version of The Moment Of Truth.
Contestants could receive Wii Points and/or Club Nintendo items.
Strongly doubt they'd do it though.
Even so . . . I used to be a pro at lying and manipulating (to my shame). So if I lied, my heartbeat wouldn't give way at all. All it is based on is if the person becomes nervous and their heartbeat fluctuates.
Which . . . maybe they could figure a game that could measure nervousness?
You can't use this trash in games!
Yea it may work with games but it will not change the gameplay!
Why would a developer make a game that senses your heartbeat, if you are beating too fast, the game says "yes this sucker is scared, let me scare him now!". You've got to be kidding me:/
Look, what's wrong with trying to figure out how in the world this thing could possibly be used in games? Why shoot down any ideas on how to use this weird accessory? Are you working for the Wii's competition and trying to make sure no one likes this thing? How much are they paying you?
Just relax. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Join the hundreds of thousands of others who don't like it. No need to blow a gasket over it or any hopeful attempts at figuring this thing out.
ok ok.
Keep guessing:)
for srs.
