At Shigeru Miyamoto's Developer Roundtable, after talking about the upcoming DS title The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, the legendary creator spent a little time discussing the newest Zelda for the Wii. An image was shown of a grown-up Link standing next to a woman in a blue robe. He also states that he would like to make the game compatible with Wii MotionPlus, and to think of Zelda while playing the archery and swordfighting games in Wii Sports Resort.

Miyamoto hopes to formally announce the game next year.

It's shame that he wasn't there for the press conference. He said he wanted to announce it then, but Nintendo being Nintendo, they decided not to do it formally until they made more progress on it.

Now all we have to do is hope that nothing derails the project from their 2010 target.

I don't think it's a bad thing to wait if you have nothing to show with it.

Yeh, that's true. It's just that it would have had a bigger impact on Nintendo enthusiasts if they even mentioned it during the press conference. Not too sure how many people tuned in for the roundtable discussion.
