The developers of Forza Motorsport get a little arrogant when Polyphony Digital, creators of the Gran Turismo series, shows up to try out their racing simulation title.

"Che Chou of Turn 10 Studios, developers of the Forza Motorsport series for Xbox 360, made a pretty underhanded criticism that certainly won’t hold over well with fans of the Gran Turismo series. While it’s standard for developers to try out each other’s games and swap information at trade shows, Turn 10 seemed particularly sensitive about Polyphony Digital showing up to the Forza booth at E3 2009."

I think you (John Draisey) may not know the meaning of the term "Stagnant," specifically with the reply questioning whether Chou was referring to sales. Wth did that have to do with the series being stagnant.

This is miscategorized as "News" rather than just a blog trying to spin non-news into something more.

I'm not even going to read this the Forza devs are just seeming incredibly arrogant lately. When PD releases a new GT, they make sure it's not just a "version 2.5" of the last one. Like how GT5 will include damage, NASCAR, WRC rallies, and more, when the only new things in Forza 3 are more cars/tracks and an improved decal system.

Though to be fair those are very small changes to a game that had already added everything Polyphony had yet to add... Opposite side of the argument could be that the reason GT5 has so much added is because they couldn't be bothered to add it in the past. To be honest Turn 10 are very good developers and Forza 3 is nothing less than the perfect sequel to Forza 2, it has more cars, better physics and better graphics. If they can do that in just over a year then 6 years wait for a game is a tad too much.

GT5's graphics and attention to details (outside on damage) is second to none. The amount of attention each aspect of the game gets attests to the long development times, especially considering how much PD is adding in GT5. There's just no way you can say the waiting isn't worth it.

Oh waiting that long for a racing game can easily be stated as not worth it. At times i don't care about the minute detail as if i wanted that i'd drive my car on a race track. Sometimes there is detail and then overkill and personally Polyphony border on overkill.

On the other hand, it can be seen as a bit of a Duke Nukem Forever situation -- by the time they're done or near done, the game is obsolete in terms of graphics, physics, etc. Speculation, of course, but given the long development time, to some extent this seems unavoidable. This is not to say GT5 won't be a great game.

There is a difference in this case though, since they did actually release GT5 Prologue we actually have proof that the game exists! LOL My brother is coming out for a visit during the first week of July, and I know it will be our game of choice for the week.
