CNet recently hosted a poll which lead to some shenanigans on the Forza Community manager's part. Well the votes have all been counted and Gran Turismo 5 is still king of the castle, despite any nefarious efforts.

E3 2009 has come and gone, leaving delicious trailers and tons of information for Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 and Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 3 racing sims in its wake. It looks like it's time for the digital drag race to begin anew.

Will the winner be GT5, with its new WRC and NASCAR modes, or scrappy Forza 3, with its in-depth customization options and more flexible difficulty levels? Sure, you could just get both and have double the fun, but only one can be the best. Check out the trailers below in HD, cast your votes, and get your fanboy on with your comments.

Editor's note: After numerous complaints of cheating and in-game content being offered as payment for votes, I've decided to close the poll. Way to ruin the fun for the rest of us, guys.

    What's with the FORZA hate?

"Johnny come lately" ?! That's a bad thing?

At least it doesn't take FORZA half a decade to moderately improve the formula between each iteration.

They brought the "hate" on themselves. The developers were bribing the fans to try and get that result.. They still lost.

Should this story be reported on GameGrep? Is the title/source correct? Please see: http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/35629/t1373782-justify-using-gamegrep-anymore/2.htm#16

Who cares? They're both great franchises.

And, as PacoDG pointed out on the forums, the poll was closed prematurely due to some accusations of cheating. Though the difference is actually pretty minuscule, tbh.

GT5 isn't adding miniscule additions. It's their first foray into PS3 gaming, they had limitations of the PS2 beforehand, whereas Turn10 started on 360. PD cranked out 2 games on PS2, another two on PS1. To fault PD on long development times is ridiculous when GT is the most successful racing sim ever.

I honestly haven't played a GT game since the PS1 era, but I played Forza 2, and I really liked it. Mostly in part because they had my car, same model, year, default color and everything, (1995 Eclipse GSX) as a car you can buy early on in the game. It was a zomgwtfbbq moment of epic proportions.

    I'd probably enjoy GT5 to..

Remember seeing for the very first time, Grand Turismo on the PS2?
Do you remember your reaction to what you were seeing? Of course I remember because it was one of the standouts that sticks with you forever. I nor you sat there and said, i must remember this.. your brain took a pciture and slapped on ya head for life.. that was thee 1ST and foremost, a defining moment for Sony, and what I believe was the dawning of the new era of gaming. The PS2 came out, and when you saw GT the first time, it was truly, thee most OMG and HOLY SH!T moments in the history of gaming, and the racing games now, look like GT on the PS2 for the 1st time.. hence why Polyphony is thee GOLD STANDARD when it comes to racing simms
