For those who didn't enjoy the jazzy soundtrack featured in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom will be offering an alternate hip-hop soundtrack to go along with this month's re-release. The soundtrack features tracks by Talib Kweli, MC Supernatural, Planet Asia, and others. The songs are supposed to be originals which were inspired by the game. How do you get your hands on these beats, you ask? Capcom will be offering these tracks for download through XBLA and the PSN near the game's release. Keep your ears "peeled" the next couple of weeks.

The summer re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 features the same wacky jazz as the original game, but Capcom revealed to Kotaku today plans for a star-studded free bonus soundtrack players can fight to instead.

Given that not everyone thinks that a battle between Wolverine and M.Bison should be set to jazz, Capcom will offer a downloadable hip-hop mixtape themed to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. The mixtape will be offered digitally close to the pending summer re-release of the game on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network, according to Capcom.

Forget the jazz. Might you like to beat up Marvel's roster to some hip-hop instead?

I don't think either style suits the game, really. I prefer my fighting game soundtrack I made years ago, which consists of Smashing Pumpkins, Melt Banana, The Prodigy, etc.

I didn't like the jazz the first time few times I played the game. I thought Capcom were off their meds. A few days later I was praising Capcom's genius. Jazz in a fighting game? Yes please.

But this is still a nice move considering it's free. And I guess if you aren't a fan of either genre, you can always play your own music in the background.

I like all kinds of music, I just don't think either suit it. If you like it though, that's cool.

Supernatural is worth checking out though. Saw him live at a Wu-Tang/Redman concert....and he stole the show.
