Speaking with Siliconera in a post-E3 phone interview, Ignition Entertainment's Business Development Director Shane Bettenhausen went into detail about the localization of the publisher's upcoming Wii title, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, which was developed by Vanillaware.

The most noteworthy news is that the game will not feature an English dub, and will only have a Japanese voice track. Bettenhausen goes further into how Ignition was able to obtain Muramasa, and the circumstances in which XSEED had the project taken away from them by Marvelous.

“For Muramasa we decided to stick with the original Japanese voices and only localize the text,” Shane Bettenhausen, Business Development Director at Ignition, told Siliconera in a post E3 phone interview. “We felt the game was deeply steeped in Japanese tradition, mythology, and culture that trying to dub it, trying to make something more Western is really not a service to the product.”

“Who wants some goofy anime voices in this game?” Bettenhausen joked.

No dreadful English dubs? Very smart move.

Waste of money, anyway, really -- for a game like this, at least.

Indeed. Just about everyone who will buy this will want Japanese voices anyway.
