Recent rumours have suggested that Nintendo is going to unveil new hardware at the E3 and most rumours say it will be a hard drive, so users can have a larger capacity and not limited when downloading games or anything online. Nintendo might also be thinking of releasing large content online if this hard drive rumour is actually true but Nintendo will unveil the new hard ware at E3 so we can only hope.

Nintendo could be preparing to unveil a Wii hard drive according to recent internet rumours.

It has been suggested that Nintendo will be showing off new hardware at this year's E3 show, and all fingers point towards that being a hard drive to increase on the Wii's relatively small 512MB of internal memory.

Confirmation back in April that Neo Geo games will begin being added to Wii's Virtual Console download service adds weight to the speculation, considering Neo Geo games are huge - some clocking in it at up to 330MB. One of those bad boys would put serious strain on the Wii's memory.

We'll be reporting from E3 so stay tuned for more on that if and when it breaks.

A hard drive has been the Wii's must have item since it came out, no surprise that it is the first think to come to mind when the new hardware rumor came out. I just wonder how much money it will cost, and how big it will be.

Sounds good. More memory means more Mario, more Metroid, more Zelda, more Sonic, more etc...

It's about time. I was expecting an announcement of a hard drive for a long time, way before the Wii launched. It's really the only practical way to add all these additions they, and third parties, have promised us. The flash memory is extremely small. The Wii needs a hard drive, and I know Nintendo is aware of that.

They already contracted a company that either makes HDDs or writes the software, I can't remember which. However, it should be on the way soon.

Awesome, I hope this actually comes around because it would be awesome to have and would allow more online releases to increase the longevity of games like Zelda =). Can you imagine tacked on missions? =o.
