Gargantuan Hazard Battle - a game in the works that is arguably the MAG of the 360. Announced by Epic, this beast will feature the newest version of the UE ( probably the one used in Gears of War 2 ) and will support 300 players online. Epic's Mark Rein claims that gamers will forget all about MAG after spending some time with this game.

Time will tell.

MAG (Massive Action Game), the PS3 exclusive promising amazing 256-player online battles, isn't on store shelves yet, but that hasn't stopped Microsoft from convincing Epic Games, the powerhouse developer behind the best-selling Gears of War franchise, to try to top it. And top it they may.

Gargantuan Hazard Battle is real. It's in the works, will use the latest iteration of the Unreal engine, and supports a whopping 300 players (which is 44 more than MAG) for online battles that will play out "like an action movie" according to Epic veep Mark Rein. What that means exactly we can't say since the title is still relatively early in development, but when pressed Rein took a shot across Sony's bow by remarking, "After spending some time with GHB, you'll forget all about MAG." Strong words, but Epic has been known to deliver.

More on this title as it becomes available.

I was just thinking that. "Who the heck is gamewad.com?"

I think the comments have already established that this is a joke anyway.

    quote
    MAG-killer
Even if its true, I'm just sick and tired of all these so called killers. Halo killers, Gears killers, MGS4 killers, and now a MAG killer. How about concentrating on making a unique game instead of labelling it as a so-and-so killer?

EDIT: Oh, and "Gargantuan Hazard Battle"? I think I'm going to wait for confirmation from better sources before taking the name seriously.

And they even went so far as to have three words in the title as well. Can nobody make up their own ideas?

Massive Action Game = Gargantuan Hazard Battle
      256 players = 300 players

Super-fail. If this turns out to be true, I will forever despise Epic for being incredibly unoriginal. I will also be annoyed that it hasn't even been two weeks and Sony has already had one of their biggest titles topped.

Since when did Epic make anything original? They specialize in shooters.

MAG isn't even original in the first place, its battlefield 2 with more players.

But this looks too fake TBH. If this is fake, then the site owner is a loser for having to make fake stuff and then having to post it on other sites just to get hits.

Exactly, and it doesn't have the awesomeness of making things go boom like the Battlefield games do now.

Anyway, I doubt the existence of this game, mainly because GHB is a kind of drug and no company would willingly make the name like that.

If Epic were to make a game like this, they'd just make it the next Unreal Tournament.

Why 300 is more than 256.

"Oh yeah, we will release a game with over 350 players!"

"NO FREAKIN' WAY,MAN! We'll top that with 400 players!"

"Well we got 500 players in our game!"

"We have motion controls for up to 4 players locally!"-Nintendo

    *everyone shoots nintendo*

Nintendo would just make (or try to make) a Wii Fire Emblem where you create your own character and fight with your buddies online against other rival nations like an MMO only not as in depth, and then make it a Pay to Play game. oh and of course you would swing your remote with the Wii Motion Plus to swing your characters weapon, and to ride a horse you would jump up and down on the Balance board. and of course they would somehow work in that heartbeat sensor on your finger device.

256 actually works though it allows for even teams of 8 in their framework. 300 just seems like they saw how many players Unreal Engine 3 could handle and left it. I can see the number of players dropping once they realise that while in a single 150 vs 150 match it'll work, when it comes to communication it will not work as individual groups of players will be uneven. This is why Zipper Interactive went with 256 as it is logistically easier to work with. Epic will understand why Zipper went with 16 teams of 8 players per side when they have 300 people all talking at the same time.

Because there's no way they could have possibly thought of 30 teams of 10.

Another thing to which I have to say "GROW UP!" Simply with the fact with what Existence said: I hate and get sick and tired of hearing this game killer trash. And also this does seem pretty fake.

    EDIT:
"(which is 44 more than MAG)" definitely sounds childish. One kid pulls out a toy at the park and the kid next to him says, "Oh yeah? I have 2 toys! Which is 1 more than you!" Not to mention, with numbers like 256 and 300, does 44 really make any difference besides a gloat factor?

...you people are taking this seriously? It's making fun of MAG's undeniably horrible title.

yeah, no one would release a game with a title even worse than what MAG stands for, at least with MAG, its semi applicable cause firearms have mags (magazines) to hold bullets so thats kinda the reference for that game, but GHB? yeah like thats a real title.
