Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation that Final Fantasy XIII's Xbox 360 conversion is only two months old, and yet is already in a playable state.

Though the title will arrive simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the US and across Europe, it seems that the development of the Xbox 360 version didn’t actually begin until a short time before this year’s E3 (which took place in Los Angeles earlier this month).

Yeah the scene they played was playable doesn't mean the rest of the game is. That demo scene was identical to the same demo scene they showed off on the Playstation 3. It could have easily been a simple case of coding the demo scene over, they showed nothing more than that scene the rest of the game could still be obscure programming language entirely unplayable.

At least the framework is there.

The battle system and the game itself seemed to be running perfectly and that's a good start.

I just hope they've started early enough so as not to delay the PS3 version.

They're already delaying the PS3 version to release simultaneously with the 360 version. PS3 version doesn't release until the 360 version is finished.

In America/Europe. The game is supposedly still on track in Japan for end of the year.

That's because the 360 version isn't releasing in Japan, hence the lack of a delay. Don't understand why though; that's excluding a significant amount of people.

I think it's because the 360 still isn't as popular as the other two in Japan, might partially be due to the fact that there's an American company stepping into the Japanese gaming market.

The game will sell like crap on the 360 in Japan to be frank. I'd predict 30 000 units to be optimistic.
