Is anyone surprised by this? I would have been surprised if it flopped.

Whilst age will take a little something from you in regards to your opinion on the final product, and the spoilers may have tarnished the emotional strains you will have, Final Fantasy 7 is still damn near perfection (in my eyes) and is second ONLY to Pokemon Blue.

Damn straight. Pokemon is the best JRPG to date bar none.

I played the first hour of it and never returned namely because it was on my modded PSP and it stopped working. I was hoping for a PS3 remake, but it looks like that's not going to happen so I may as well just buy this.

Edit: meant to edit the first one and ended up quoting & replying to it..just iggy the first reply.

Eh...I hope Squeenix is satisfied by this, and get to that remake of the game. They are milking this franchise to death, supposed to just be a trump card.

I was just thinking the same thing. I think Squeenix is stupid not to consider remaking FFVII. Albeit, I know they said they wouldn't work on it unless the entire team from the original was available to work on it but still. :S

The way they're obsessed with churning out games like daily meals, I sometimes wonder if the team will ever be available to work on it.

Well that's expected, it's FFVII. Print the logo/characters on laundry detergent, vitamins, vases, fans, trash cans, lawn mowers, deodorant, lotion, tampons, salsa, megaphones, mouthwash, batteries, boomerangs, wood burning kits, etc., and they'll all sell 30 Million units. Each.

...And something tells me that most, if not all, of those have some FFVII-related merchandise already.

Lol, everything this man stated is completely true.

Meh, might pick this up for my PSP just so i can have FF7 on the go.

But i still have my original Playstation copy and still play it to death on my PS2 so i think i'm alright for now lol.

In that case, since you still have the original, just convert it and put in on your PSP. No transaction necessary.

Does your PSP have custom firmware? If so, there's a mini guide floating somewhere around the PSP forums that tell you how to do it. Got me a chance to finally play 9.

No I completely agree. IMO FFVII isn't as good as everyone says. It's a good game but far from "near perfection".

Oh, I like FFVII and enjoy it. But a 12 year old game featuring no worthwhile improvements over the original doesn't strike me as being worth 16AUD.

On the plus side though, it sure beats having to pay for an original PSX copy 'cos seem to cost a fortune these days.

It's amazing how many people consider themselves hardcore FF7 fans when they don't even own an original copy of the game

haha you got a good point there!

I still own original PSOne copies of FF1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9.

      pretty damn proud of that.

Hopefully they'll follow this up with Final Fantasy VIII (which I've never played but have gotten really interested in all of a sudden) and Final Fantasy IX.

I have FFVIII,so I don't really care about that one,but I hope they release FFIX,I would totally download it.
