Sony has finally admitted what many have been saying for quite some time, that the PSP needs a killer app. The chief financial officer for Sony Corporation of America Robert Wiesenthal stated that Sony needs to get more AAA games for the Sony PlayStation Portable in order to try and turn it into the de factor handheld to own and be able to compete with the likes of the Nintendo DS which continues to control sales.

Sony stated that they plan to sell 12 million units of the PSP for the financial year which began April 2006. Since then though the PSP has not performed up to the expectations of Sony.

Perhaps the killer app would be "Battery Life"?

Uhhhhhhhh, what's wrong with it's battery life? Mine has never given me trouble and seems to last forever.

Fine for me as well. You get about 9 hours and when you're not using it, just recharge it.

cjmnews, God of War is being released on the PSP. There are also going to be many killer games released this year.

There are some great games, some of which are in the Top Ten Addictive games (http://www.gamegrep.com/reviews/2144-top_ten_addictive_games/) like Katamari and Lumines. Dungeon Siege wasn't bad either.

God of War or Oblivion could make a killer app on the PSP. Maybe an upgrade to reduce load times (increasing battery life in the process) would be better.

Olivion should help it out. So should the alleged FF7. Why they didn't already get an FF game on the PSP is anyone's guess...
