No surprise here. Shane Kim, the Vice President of Microsoft, is very happy that Metal Gear Solid is coming to the Xbox 360. Interestingly enough, he also admitted that Xbox 360 is in second place behind the Nintendo Wii with his interview with Gamasutra.

This article doesn't make sense to me. What exactly are they saying?

Well they're saying "We've always said Third Party devs were important. Now that we have MGS:Rising, we are now on a level playing field with the competition concerning Third Party Games"

What I don't get was . . . weren't they always focusing so much on 1st party and all that and it was Sony saying they focused on 3rd party games dev loyalty? Something along those lines?

Something about that just doesn't seem right, I don't know. I feel like someone has flip-flopped on us. Could be wrong of course, but. . .

Weird, because they mostly BUY games, it's not like their studios actually make up many of their exclusives. So they've been relying on third party games for a very long time.

I'm glad MGS is venturing to the 360. I'm also glad that Solid Snake isn't gonna be in it. The Playstation has been and always will be his home. When he went and played at Xbox's house last gen, he came back crying, complaining of glitches and shitty controls. When he went and played at GameCube's house, he came back angry as a muther*bleep*er for ruining the best MGS game (up to that point). Solid Snake should stay home and let Raiden go and have fun at the green monster's house.

Oh, and I have a 360, btw, so this isn't some fanboyish rant. It just sounded funny at the time.

Well, if they're talking 3rd party exclusivity, that doesn't apply here. MGSR is multiplat. So again, what are they trying to say?
