It seems that Grand Theft Auto IV could possibly miss its October 16, 2007 release date on the PS3 and Xbox 360 due to a delay. The game is set to launch on October 16, 2007. That has been the release date ever since the next-generation Grand Theft Auto was announced a few months ago for a simultaneous release on the PS3 and Xbox 360. That release date is also just a few weeks before the end of the fiscal year.

Edit: It should be noted that Take 2 itself has yet to make any official announcement regarding a delay for GTAIV. Suffice to say, the GTA fanbase will be abuzz should they decide to make such an announcement.

Either way this release date shift will have a huge impact on holiday sales on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of software as few companies will want to go head to head with a game like Grand Theft Auto IV.
