Although no official word from Sony as yet, the UK game retail site, Play.com has listed Gran Turismo 5 as being available this year! For the exact date see inside.

Whether this date is completely accurate is only speculation as there has been no official date set by Sony themselves. You would however think that this date would be a smart move by Sony as Gran Turisom 5 has been in development for a long time and all the Gran Turismo fans out there have waited long enough for it, although they did get the Prologue version.

Until Polyphony and Sony give some real confirmation, I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Would be a risky move given the AAA titles that come out around that same time every year. If it was released in July more people would be able to afford it! LMFAO

Risky? I disagree. Right now, the games I most want are GT5 and MW2, screw all the other stuff that's coming out. I've been waiting for GT for ages.

Man, you have a short list! Your wallet must love you! LOL I'm no marketing guru, so it most likely is the best possible move in the world. For me though, GT5 may have to take a back seat to others like Uncharted 2, White Knight Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Modern Warfare 2, Bad Company 2, etc, etc....not to mention all the other titles yet to be announced. That time of year is always tough for me to decide which games will make the final cut.

Haha. Yes my wallet is limited >.>. But still. I guess it's just a case of what people prefer.

Risky move? It's Gran Turismo. The biggest competition against it would be the cost of the PS3 itself.

Considering the GT series is the Playstation's biggest selling franchise I think only MW2 will compete with it in sales if it is released in November. It will be the others that take the back seat imo.
