In early 2010, Microsoft might actually do something that gamers would never expect. Alan Wake is coming in Spring 2010; that is a fact. However, what you don't know is that gamers that purchase this highly anticipated title might actually be in for quite a surprise.

I recently contacted Remedy to conduct an interview with them; the first part of the interview will be posted tomorrow. However, one of the answers that I received was so interesting that I had to post it today. While interviewing Oskari Hakkinen, Head of Franchise Development at Remedy Entertainment, I asked him whether or not Project Natal will be implemented, in some form, in Alan Wake. Surprisingly, his response was the following:

Rapper gamer variety hour is a tabloid confirmed. From this answer:

"We unfortunately don’t have anything to communicate concerning Natal other than it looks like a very cool piece of technology."

    You got this:

"Given the fact that I asked him a simple question, I was expecting him to give me a direct answer. All he needed to say was No!!! In fact, I expected him to say No!!! The fact that he chose to avoid giving me a straight answer means that there might actually be a secret that he is intentionally declining to reveal."

C'mon Samo, one thing is people not agreeing with your weird opinions on games and your 8 part articles, but it is completely another to exploit an answer to an interview question into cheap hits on your site. Have you no pride in what you write? Or at least respect for the people you interview? (I'm sure they don't want their words to get twisted in this crap)

      @ PacoDG

If he denied the possibility that would've been the end of it. However, declining to give a straight answer only means that it is either a possibility that they are looking into or a certainty that will absolutely happen. Either way, it is something interesting to share with the gaming community.

Furthermore, if you read the whole article, you would've seen many points to support this argument. That is exactly what this is; an argument. There is no need for you to be upset about it so much. In fact, what I would like to see is counter-arguments that would negate mine. I would like to open up a topic that would lead to a healthy discussion among gamers.

Moreover, if you would like to criticize the article, please do so; the only thing that I would like you to do is be constructive. Tell me what you didn't like, and tell me why you didn't like it. You maight actually be a helpful asset that would help us as a site improve, and I would highly appreciate that.

As for the eight-chapter article, it was to silence all the Sony fanboys that kept criticizing the Xbox 360 for not having games in 2009 even though I knew that it did, in fact, have plenty. If you would like to look back at it now, I would tell you that many of my assumptions and predictions turned out to be true.

I stated that God of War 3 would be coming out in 2010. In fact, I also provided the link to a previous article that explained in detail why God of War 3 will be coming out in MARCH 2010! Anyone that read that article and still believed that GOW 3 will be coming in 2009 needs to be examined because that article had everything necessary to convince anyone that GOW 3 is a 2010 title.

I stated that Heavy Rain, Quantm (Quantum Theory at the time), MAG, and The Last Guardian (Team ICO title at the time) were all coming out in 2010.

I stated that Crackdown 2 will be announced at E3, Alan Wake will be shown at E3 and even though I expect it to come in 2009, a February 2010 release is a very tempting alternative for Microsoft(which turned out to be a Spring 2010 release), Peter Moyneux will reveal Project Dimitri(which turned out to be Milo), Microsoft will unveil the new motion camera controller(which turned out to be Project Natal), and Kojima will take the stage to announce either a new IP for the Xbox 360 or a Metal Gear title(which turned out to be Metal Gear Solid: Rising). In truth, I did state that the kojima title would be an Xbox 360 exclusive, and I did mention Zone of the Enders 3 as a possibility, but the fact of the matter is that I was right about a Metal Gear title coming to the Xbox 360, and I was right about Kojima taking the stage during Microsoft's press conference.

In fact, My sources in Japan informed me about Itagaki forming a new studio composed entirely of the main team that started Team Ninja in the first place, and working on an Xbox 360 title. I mentioned that in the final chapter. On the next day, 1up posts their interview with Itagaki. To be clear, we were the first to break the news of Itagaki's return. I actually knew about it since March, but chose to keep it until I write the eight chapter article.

In addition, if you would like to argue that many of my other assumptions didn't come true, all I can say is this: we still have six more months to go, and Shane Kim did state during E3 09 that Microsoft still has several unannounced titles for 2009. More importantly, many of my assumptions that did not yet come true were not regarding an E3 09 announcement, and were simply directed to 2009 as a whole; meaning, it also included what I expect for TGS and Leipzig as well. What is very interesting about the eight chapter article is that many have mentioned in the comments sections of several sites that they were some of the best articles ever written in gaming journalism, and those readers were the ones that disagreed with me, yet they extremely enjoyed the article. Also, I was complemented regarding these articles by a SONY representative that was very impressed with the quality of my writing. He was specifically impressed with how thorough and informative the articles were, and was actually reading it on a daily basis.

I believe that it is the most comprehensive series of articles for the Xbox 360 line-up for 2009. In fact, you can use it as a reference for all the possible titles to come out throught this year, and you will see many of the titles that I mentioned, that were not announced at E3, come to life in the coming months.

Lastly, fanboys are biased, and unfortunately, many individuals in the gaming websites are racists. The only gamers that choose to attack Hiphopgamer are the racists and the jealous ones that hate seeing someone rise instead of them. I was not disrespecting anyone with this article. There is no disrespect nor lack of pride in expressing your thoughts in a mature way that does not offend anyone. Regardless, I wish you all the best.

      God Bless You

I was not talking about you. I was simply stating what I have witnessed in the gaming community. I have nothing against you. In fact, I would be looking forward to your reply, and I have nothing but respect for you.

Y'know, Samo, I respect the fact that you never argue, and instead try to discuss things sensibly, but sometimes the stuff you post is just so outlandishly...out there, that we just cannot take you seriously at all. The assumptions you make are so unfounded sometimes (see 8-Part series on why Xbox will Dominate...) that it makes some of us wonder how this stuff gets approved.

All due respect, and I mean that; but you gotta start bringing real logic into your works.

I thank you for your comment. All I ask is that you read the article. It is not just based on the response that I have received, but on several points that support my argument.

As for the eight-chapter article being outlandish, many of my assumptions turned out to be true simply because they were based on a logical analysis of the information available at the time. To clarify, please feel free to check out my long comment above; it includes most of the assumptions that I made that turned out to be true.

Lastly, it does not matter how far-fetched certain arguments are as long as they are backed up by logical reasoning, and initiate a healthy discussion. You can argue anything you want. You can even argue why something as far-fetched as Activision acquiring Microsoft! just give your evidence, and make it an interesting read; regardless of whether or not your reasoning was strong enough to convince me, I will read it, and might even enjoy it.

Sometimes, writing articles is not about stating facts but about exploring new possibilities and ideas, and backing them up with points that could make sense. This is where many readers flip out when they shouldn't. Just read the article, enjoy it, then give your counter-argument. In other words, many readers are taking the fun out of the whole exploration experience that some writers provide. Regardless, I have nothing but respect for you, and I wish you all the best.

          God Bless

To everyone that disagrees with the article, you are claiming that it is normal for developers to avoid commenting on things even if they are, in fact, not true. However, as a journalist, I am telling you that when they choose not to comment on something, it is probably because there is something in the background that they are not ready to share with the public. Developers can say: "No!".

For example, when there were rumors regarding Gears of War 3 coming out as a multiplatform title, Hiphopgamer asked Cliffy B directly whether or not we will see GOW 3 on the PS3, and his reponse was "NO!!". Another example, when Ubisoft was asked regarding the possibility of Splinter Cell: Conviction coming to the PS3, their response was even stronger than just a "NO!!"; it was "NEVER!!".

          God Bless You All

Many of your assumptions? Like how you said "Metal Gear Solid 4 will finally be coming to the Xbox 360 some time this year. The New IP by Kojima will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.Zone of The Enders 3 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.Metal Gear Solid 5 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive!Final Fantasy Versus XIII will finally be announced as a multiplatform title.Kingdom Hearts 3 will be announced as an Xbox 360 exclusive!Final Fantasy XIII will finally be announced for the Xbox 360 in Japan."
Yea, you were right on the money

your continuous illogical and offensive stance will always remain a mystery. You left out a simple fact: I did not claim that all of them will come true. I simply stated that one or more might come true. In the end, I was simply saying that kojima will announce a 360 title that might actually be metal gear. To everyone's surprise, that is exactly what happened.

As for any predictions regarding Square titles, all I can tell you is that the year is not over, and that TGS is right around the corner.

So are you trying to say that you were right in your assumption that "kojima will announce a 360 title that might actually a metal gear title"? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Rising coming to the 360, ps3 and pc.

Rising was a 360 title, but it sure as hell wasn't exclusive. So that guess was barely applicable.
