With the major success of the Wii due to its motion sensor, Bill Gates is hinting that the 360 controller just might be able to have motion sensing as well. It would make sense for them to implement it seeing as the Wii and PS3 have it.

Bill Gates reaffirms previous suggestions that Xbox revisions are on the way
With Nintendo’s Wii currently storming on in the next-gen console market, Microsoft boss Bill Gates has admitted that his company is looking to integrate motion-sensing controls into its gaming hardware.

CVG reports that at last week’s All Things D conference, Gates stated: “Imagine a game machine where you're just going to pick up the bat and swing it or the tennis racket and swing it.”

Earlier this year Xbox boss Peter Moore admitted that his firm is looking into the possibility of integrating motion control into the 360 joypad, stating: “We have plans. This does not come as a surprise.”

Wow, what number revision is this for the 360? We have the Elite, now a motion sensing controller in the works, what next?

      One that supports blue-ray? =D

I thought Bill gates said he didn't want to get involved with motion-sensing? I guess realized he couldn't run away from it.

I really hope they don't do this. I would hate to have a motion sensing controller

I also hope they don't do this. I'll play my Wii if I want motion controls. If I want to play with a normal controller, I'll play my 360.

Hmm. I guess Microsoft doesn't want to be left out when it comes to have motion sensing controllers. I don't know if this is a good idea or bad idea to be honest.

I hope this doesn't happen, nintendo gets the motion stuff, other compinies can stick with the regular controlers.

I wouldn't mind so much as long as it's not mandatory. I'm much too lazy to move my arms when I play games.

Oh great, Microsoft is going to be saying "Me too" even more often.

    First HDMI, now motion sensing....

Gates stated: “Imagine a game machine where you're just going to pick up the bat and swing it or the tennis racket and swing it.”

Yeah, I can imagine it. In fact, I can play it right now. It's called the Wii...

So he is basically planning to run off with how the Wii currently plays and include the extra features which the 360 currently holds with this? Harsh. I wonder to what extent the motion-sensing will be used.

Adding motion sensing at this point will be nothing but a gimmick. Wii is all about motion sensing. There is no reason to develop a game for Wii that doesn't have motion control, because motion control is an integral part of the system. A simple add on will never attract the attention or use to make it a success.

May i remind you ppl that it was the ps3 who started the six axis motion feature and Wii countered with the garbage motion senor stick and etc. Remember ps3 came out first b4 nintendo, they could as easly took sony ideas as well. And keep this in the back of the mind:
    quote
It would make sense for them to implement it seeing as the Wii and PS3 have it.

The Wiis motion sensing is not garbage, it's more advanced and allows better control than sixaxis

Though Nintendo may have not exactly been the first to think of the motion sensing controller idea, the Wii-mote is quite far from being "garbage."

Nintendo announced the Wii-mote at a conference. Sony then denied the conference the chance to look at the PS3, saying it needed to be upgraded.

Okay first Sony, now Microsoft? Why can't anyone think of their own god dam ideas >>. Motion sensing is going to suck on the 360, they won't be able to implement it well at all, and the current people who own the system are gonna be like wtf?
