PS3 Firmware 2.80 Announced

Today Sony has announced that a new firmware will be coming to the Playstation 3 soon. Version 2.80 will help improve the playback for some Playstation games.

Hello, I just wanted to provide everyone with a head’s up that the next PLAYSTATION 3 system software update (v2.80) will be coming soon. The playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 format software has been improved.

    Wow...that's a massive disappointment. For a X.X update, I expected a lot more. This is more of a X.XX kind of deal.

    Yeah, really overblowing the importance here.

    Hm . . . well they always announce beforehand the FW updates (well, try to anyway). Even the small ones. And before there's a huge influx of "OMG there's an awesome uber cool update coming to the PS3! FW Update 2.80!!" comes along, it's better to have a rumour stopper article here on GG too

    This piece of news is nice. Though I found the blog about Punisher: No Mercy a lot more interesting though. Anybody care in putting that up? I'm too lazy.

      Haha, I know what you mean, I visit the blog almost anytime I come on and find a lot of good posts, but . . . honestly just too lazy to post them. Terrible, aint it?

      Well I guess even if I did get a connection in the place I'm at for the week, I won't be able to get online anyway since the update is out! (Won't risk the VERY weak internet signal)

    I was hoping for more when I saw 2.80. AH well, atleast the playblack thing is good.

    It's not a mandatory install here.
