Electronic Theatre reports on the recent promotion allowing gamers to subscribe to Xbox LIVE! for only £1, but does this work-out well in the long-run?

The offer must be entered into with the use of a Credit or Debit Card, and cannot be purchased through Microsoft Points or Subscription Cards traditionally available at retail. After your first month, your membership will automatically renew at the normal monthly cost of £3.99, or you can upgrade to a longer-term subscription to get a Gold Account for less than £3.34 per month. This, however, does in fact work-out more expensive than purchasing a twelve month Gold Account Subscription.

Don't do it, because if you do, they'll get your credit card number which would be an incredible hassle to remove from their accounts.

    Prepaid cards or bust.

Its not that hard,I paid by card and cancelled it no hassle when I got my 12 month card.

I do prefer cards though (:.

It's not bad, you just remember the day that you did it...cancel 29 days after.

I did it for the $1, and then I'll cancel it.

After that I have a few 1 month cards I got that I can use.
