Square Enix Teasing a New Game with a Countdown

Square Enix has put up a teaser site with a countdown ticking away.

You know what this means?

A new game!

Aside from the basic concept art we see on the page, there's the large number 4, and a barely audible ditty that you'll need to turn up the volume for. The countdown looks like it'll end on July 6th.

    Valkyrie Profile would be nice, except the "4" doesn't really lean that way. Also, it would be on the Tri-Ace site. D=

    My best (hopeful) guess: Seiken Densetsu 4.

        You sure? They've had Legend of Mana and other games since Seiken Densetsu 2 and I don't recall them ever being referred to as Seiken Densetsu "#".

        Edit: Eh, that's stupid. You would think they would just have some consistency with titling.

    By the sound of the "barely audible ditty", I think it might be a handheld game. Perhaps porting another early Final Fantasy to the DS?

    What's this? The twenty-fifth game announced by Square with only two or three coming out this year?

    They should stop announcing games and actually get to putting them on the market.

      BTW: I have not played any of the Grandia games, though from what I've heard of the quality, I should have...

      Not exactly...

      Kojima's countdown led to another countdown, then another if I'm not mistaken...which was kind of stupid, in my opinion.

      Bloody unlikely. Not impossible, but highly improbable.

      Imagine people searching for "4" on google, only to be confused and angry at seeing a lot of math stuff XD

      Not to mention, most companies usually avoid titles like that (really short titles, ones that also don't really say anything).

        Some companies unfortunately don't realize how annoying it is to name their games after one syllable. It would genuinely not surprise me if the game was actually named "4".

          No, I know about that, but those are a bit of a rarity aren't they? I'm pretty sure Square-Enix knows at least that much.

    Hmm maybe it could 4 could mean 4 new characters that sqaure enix developed for some new game. or maybe the 4 really has nothing to do with the teaser?

    There are 3 bushy trees next to the road in the image on the site, and the number 4 is under the timer.

    4+3=7 zOMG itza Fynil Fancy 7 remake!!1!

    I thought that since no one else is making ridiculous assumptions, I'd give it a go.

      Wow this is somthing I would of never thought of. I think this is currently the most resonable theory.

        YARRRRR ID LOVE ANOTHER DRAKENGARD TITLE! SUCH AN UNDERAPPRECIATED RPG!

        But unfortunately, Square (back when it was still Squaresoft) only developed and published the original. They sold the rights and the sequel was developed and published by different companies. So I doubt Square would be jumping back in to make a third, especially when the first two were never very popular to begin with. God, such an epic storyline...
