Sony has confirmed that the soon to be launched Home service for the Playstation 3 will be humans only. The team are trying to take a more realistic look at reality by banning such avatars as Aliens, and other non-humans. I'm guessing that also excludes animals? I wonder if this shows signs for Sony to drop all games related to The Sims. The only bad thing I can see coming out of this would be for those lucky hippie's who got their hands on a PS3, not being able to create themselves as a Green Martian and all.

"Sony has confirmed that the soon to be launched Home service for the PlayStation 3 will have avatars which will be humans only.

That means that those of you hoping to open an apartment in the virtual PlayStation 3 Home space as an alien from a distant planet will be sorely disappointed. The reasoning behind this most likely for Sony is to try to keep it as a realistic consistent world without having a lot of unrealistic aspects such as aliens.

Sony has stated that they want Home to be more of a Second Life type experience and the decision to have human avatars only is one which will likely end up being a wise one. Regardless though people who may not want to be confined to human skin may be a bit disappointed with this revelation."

lol. I also got a laugh out of that, I don't really know who would want to be aliens. Maybe a little kid would enjoy it, but I don't think Sony should waste their time adding attire and such for it.

Hmmmm, I think kids would, and im sure alot of kids do play the sims, and would love Home so I reckon that's a bad idea.

Generally kids don't own 600 dollar game consoles.

Generally kids don't buy 600 dollar game consoles. Just 'cause a kid can't afford one doesn't mean a parent can't.

Who cares about kids, most parents won't buy a kid a PS3 anyway and the console itself is not aimed at children, so taking out pathetic aliens and other unrealistic creatures will really affect a free game.

I like the idea of keeping it as real as possible. There are many kids on the PSN aged 12 to 17.

Yeah that's good though, I mean keeping it as real as possible is so much better theng seeing a bunch of random alien kids running around the streets T_T.

I think it'd be more interesting if PS3 is unrealistic rather than realistic.

I don't really think that keeping it "real" is a good idea, if I wanted reality at every corner I would shut down my console and go out...
