While not as blunt or harsh as Activision's Bobby Kotick's statement, Tecmo Koei's new CEO, Kenji Matsubara, has also expressed that he would like to see a PS3 price cut; however, he has taken into account the fact that it might not be viable for Sony.
CEO of the newly-formed publisher Tecmo Koei, Kenji Matsubara, has said he "would welcome a price cut for PS3", and has made his request known to Sony in past meetings.
"Whenever I discuss this with Sony reps I always ask them: 'Please cut the price', but I don't have a clear view on Sony's situation," Matsubara told CVG during an interview.
"Yes, from a publisher's point of view we would welcome a price cut for PS3, and we are waiting, definitely," he added.
"It's definitely a way of boosting the PS3 market, but it's Sony's strategy and I don't know their cost structure. Sony introduced cutting-edge technology in the PS3, that's why people in the industry accept that the PS3 cost is so high, but we'd welcome a price cut."

As for the topic at hand, KOEI isn't the first company to say this. Nor will they be the last.
Point being, there are reasons why they can't, drop dreaming.
D:<
Even if they end up making no money this gen, They would just take it into consideration next gen and most likely release the next PS earlier to pick up for the PS3, and so then the devs have a whole new console to make games for while having the PS3 still.
That's my point. If the PS3 went crappy people would still be able to dev for it, but they wouldn't, because it wouldn't fetch them enough money.
This is, of course, all based on if something like that were to happen, not just if they lost a bit of money on the price drop. It's not that great of a risk but it's one some people don't want to take.
That's why I work hard to be an "Against the grain" type 'o guy. I like to be different.
Hell i'll pay the usual price for one, but please cut the price before christmas (Thats when i'm getting one)
