LucasArts To Announce New "Old" Game On Monday

LucasArts' Twitter account has been teasing followers with the promise of a "new" game being announced on Monday. According to the tweets, the title will be a new game based on an existing franchise that old-school fans are familiar with. Could it be related to the recently announced Monkey Island games? Or possibly a new developer for Battlefront III? Let the speculation begin.

Amazing news coming Monday! Super excited! You have no idea how tough it is not to start yelling about it! But it's secret! Until Monday!

I don't want to tease, it is just tough not to say anything! I might be tempted, however. Have to think about it over the weekend. ;)

Okay, we will do hints. It is awesome news for our old school fans. (anything more direct might get me in trouble)

Monday, early, actually. I suppose if the president of the company messages me to leak it I would. Til then, it is teasing. Sorry guys.

I did say nothing to do with new IP people! Keep guessing though. I might have to retweet the guy who figures it out...

    Psychonauts 2 / remake.

    It's not what it's gonna be, the stench of Darth Vader's rotted prostate is slathered all over the announcement, but I can dream.

    Edit: LMAO, I just remembered the guys behind that made it after they left LucasArts didn't they *facepalm* xD

    Oooh! I hope it's a star wars game. I didn't get to play many of them (Actually only played one), and would love the chance to play a remake of one

      Yeah, I'd personally like to see this opportunity go towards the announcement of a Star Wars title. I mean we already know Monkey Island's making a big return and it's been covered enough by sites and blogs. So I'm going to be holding out for a bit of Star Wars love from LucasArts.

    I just want Battlefront 3 to come out already. If LucasArts will do that I'll be so happy. Have they even officially announced it? Maybe this will be it.

      I'd actually love to see that happen. It just won't be the same without Factor 5 though. But maybe after RS3, a new developer could really reboot the series and bring something new..

      How will that be something that would make their old school fans happy? It's sounding more of a remake, not a sequel.

      Besides, I wouldn't mind a force unleashed 2. Done right of course.

        Because George Lucas is a spastic, so to him it is old now (old enough to milk by claiming oldness anyway) and because I completely forgot that part when writing that comment *doublefacepalm*

        Lets face it though one's on the way. And it's gonna be exactly the same as the first. You may say that isn't a bad thing. But I mean exactly the same.

    I highly doubt that there will be a KOTOR 3 with SWTOR in the foreseeable future.

    Just thought I'd add this: SOMEBODY'S GUESSED IT. Check out their Twitter page and there's a huge announcement (literally) two hours back about somebody's guess on that page being spot on. If you're going to be up for a while, you can start placing your bets on who got it right. Otherwise you can always wait till it's officially announced.
