Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation that Grand Theft Auto IV is set to hit the PLAYSTATION 3's official Budget Range in Japan, with no word on the Xbox 360 release following suit.

Published in Japan by Capcom, the game is set to drop its Recommended Retail Price to 3,900 Yen, approximately £24, on August 27th, 2009. There’s no word about a drop in price for the Xbox 360 release currently, but with the game performing far better on Sony’s console – outstripping many of Sony’s own first-party PS3 releases – it comes as little surprise that this version remains a priority in the East.
