I agree with you. Sex shouldn't seem like a necessary thing in a video game, same as violence, or drugs, or foul language.
I think certain things should only be included if they seem like they fit the game's style.
For instance, if you're making a game like GTA, then I think everything I mentioned above should be there in some form or another, but having a random sex scene in a game like MGS or DMC would be a bit unnecessary and ridiculous...
There's a way to do it, and there's a way not to do it, and there's a certain degree that you can do it to and certain situations that you can do it in. Do it right, or don't put it in at all.
I think I tried that line before.
On another note; near the end of the game, right after the sex scene, Ashley (possible romance choice) turned over and looked up to start the "Morning After" cutscene. At that right moment, I heard the "Da-dink!" and saw "Achievement Unlocked". I lol'd
I don't think its necessary to have sex in a video game to make it 'mature', there are plenty of things that they can do to give it an edge. Having the proper atmosphere for a start.
As long as it isn't as boring as the sex in GTA4 -_-
