Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation that Modern Warfare 2 will infact most likely launch under the Call of Duty branding, contrary to that which they've been saying all along.

It seems as though Activision may have realised they were being a tad too plucky with the strength of their Modern Warfare brand, as a revelation via that most unlikely source, Twitter, has revealed that the highly anticipated Modern Warfare 2 may be stepping back into the Call of Duty fray.

    That boxart is *bleep*ing sick.

    It doesn't really bother me that the game is keeping the Call of Duty moniker. My only issue with it is that on the boxart itself, the Call of Duty words don't look that nice. I would prefer that they space the words out so it's aligned with the Modern Warfare 2.

      They could be purposely "sabotaging" the Call of Duty title just so the Modern Warfare title stands out more.

      it's just balance. the big '2' is aligned to the right, so the smaller 'call of duty' phrase was aligned to the left so keep everything evened out. :}

    It doesn't really matter what they call the game, since it really has no impact on the quality we'll get. I will always be eager to get my hands on this game, regardless of what they finally decide to call it.

    Jeezus Christ, you think they would know the name of their own game lol.

    I really could care less what name it goes under, as long as its in my hands on the 11 of Nov.

    Everyone would refer to it as CoD anyway.

      Correction: Everyone would refer to it as CoD6 anyway.

        i wont. ill still call it Modern Warfare 2 cause it sounds better for one. im getting sick of the "COD" moniker for one thing. but yeah cause most ppl are lazy and stupid, they will just continue to call it COD6.

    Like the rest of the group....makes no difference to me in the long run, a title is a title, the game is all I'm concerned about, and it will be kick-ass because of who's heading it up.

    well they are certainly shooting themselves in the foot this way, because Treyarch's WW2 CODs are inevitably gonna be compared to MW2 now that they are all under the COD label, so you can kiss Treyarch's stuff goodbye.

    Works just as well. The cover art looks awesome.

    tbh I was calling it CoD all this time. It just felt weird calling it just modern warfare 2.

    It's a sequel to a Call of Duty game, so not giving it that moniker seemed odd to me. Hopefully they have made up their minds at this point...
