Jack Thompson is a famous anti-videogame activist who's become infamous over the past few years, attacking every game with a hint of violence and generating so much negative buzz that even the legal system tries to ignore him. What's even more shocking is that he was caught with a game system in his own home.

"While watching Penn and Teller’s: Bull Shit!, a Showtime series about various topics that are about, well bull shit, I noticed this week’s episode was on violence in video games (season: 7 episode: 3, 7 mins). Of course the infamous Jack Thompson was profiled and spouted his usual anti-video game violence babble. But I was shocked when I saw this right on my TV…"

I don't think he has ever been anti-videogames. He has been anti-violence in video games and was always against children playing these violent video games. All the photo shows is the man does have a recreational life, he probably watches a few Blu-Ray movies and plays the odd video game in his spare time. I mean just because you dislike violent videogames doesn't mean you dislike all videogames.

Props to you man (or just a thumbs up). Not a fan of Jack Thompson's methods at all, but you speak sensibly. I'm thinking Thompson may actually play some of the games he's against so he knows what he's talking about! Or less offensive video games, like you said.

      Unlike politicians.

You're all fools, he just wants to watch his blu-ray movies and view pictures. Where are the actual games!?

He also might just play family games. They never said he was going against a console, just violent games.

The thing is just because he doesn't like violent games also doesn't put all "violent" games off limits. We already know he doesn't like games like GTA and Saints Row but who is to say he doesn't like more sensible games like Call of Duty and other such shooters, that yes have violence but do it in a fashion that isn't gratuitous. He only has a problem with those that use violence and bad content in the over zealous ways, he'd absolutely love GTA if it showed some sense of refrain but it doesn't and thus he stands up against it.

You use "you're all" too loosely, as clearly you can read the first two comments and see that they pretty much say what you say . . . sort of.

Technically, Sony stated that "the PS3 was never intended to be just a gaming device".

Well, even if he does play violent videogames it's probably just so he can begin ranting about how they are the filthiest things ever created by mankind.

Often i think the hate for this man blinds them from the fact he is still human. Yes we all love the games he wants to ban but really this man can still own a console. I do not know him personally i do not know his history or if he has children, but there could be many reasons why he owns one not even including the obvious that he has a recreational life, watches movies and plays the odd video game. Sure he may use it for "research" but surely that just puts down 90% of the haters that in their mind he bases his ban this game statements on unfounded comments because he's never played the games... Obviously he has. Jack Thompson love him hate him may just be a gamer like everyone on this website, aint that a bitch.

Anybody who has the chance should definitely check out this P&T:BS episode online. My personal favorite scene is where Penn says "Those of you who are squimish should look away at this next clip" ... and the next shot is of Hilary Clinton.
