Speaking with VideoGamer.com, Capcom's Ryota Niitasuma talked about Tatsunoko vs. Capcom's exclusivity on the Wii. Capcom fans with a Wii can rest assured that there are no current plans for the game and its possible sequels to appear on any other system. On the topic of possibly seeing the game ported to the XBLA and PSN, Niitsuma said that the game was built with the Wii in mind and a port would have to be made from scratch.

Talking about sequels, Niitsuma said that they want to see what the Western audience thinks of the game. Given enough sales a sequel is definitely possible. He also said that a sequel would be more likely to appear on the 360 and PS3 than the original game. But as he said earlier, there are no current plans for the game being released on anything other than the Wii.

There are no plans for an Xbox LIVE Arcade or PSN version of upcoming Wii-exclusive fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, producer Ryota Niitsuma said that because the game is optimised for the Wii, Capcom would be better off developing a sequel for XBLA and PSN than spending the time on a port.

When asked if there is any chance that the game might be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the future, Niitsuma replied: “Currently, no, but we would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii.

“The other problem is the game is optimised for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.”

So there you have it fighting game fans. There’s more chance of a 360/PSN sequel than there is the original coming to the “next-gen” consoles.
