Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation that EA SPORTS had been approached with the UFC licence and rejected it, before revealing they are working on a title to compete with THQ's UFC series.

It has been revealed this weekend that EA SPORTS are currently developing a Mixed Martial Arts title to rival THQ’s successful UFC 2009 Undisputed, but it appears there’s far more to this story than yet another “me-too” franchise. UFC President Dana White has publicly acknowledged his disappointment at the turn of events, stating his previous attempts to negotiate a deal with Electronic Arts fell flat very quickly, and that those wishing to side with the videogames publisher would have a hard time getting back into the infamous Octagon.
