It was bound to happen: Battlefield Heroes, Electronic Arts’ recently-released cartoon-style multiplayer shooter, has reached the one million mark in three weeks.

For the uninitiated, Battlefield Heroes is a sandbox-style multiplayer game that comes with avatar customization. Of course, like other multiplayer shooters, changing your avatar’s appearance has no bearing on gameplay. Customization items are available for Valor Points (points earned by playing the game) or with Battlefunds (a fictional currency bought via credit card or PayPal) so players can update or change their hero’s look at any time.
