Hulu responds to PS3 users' outcry. It seems that this is the "official" statement since I received the exact same email.

To put it short, there appears to be some legalities surrounding media being streamed to the console's browser. They hope to have this figured out in the near future.

For those that do not know or have access to Hulu, it is a popular streaming-video website that delivers official content, such as TV shows or movies, with limited commercial interruption and in high quality.

You still can't access Hulu, the popular and free on-demand streaming TV and movie service, from a PlayStation 3. Hulu mysteriously started blocking PlayStation 3s from accessing content and the company has yet to address the issue, leading to endless speculation on the site's motives. Around that time, I submitted a complaint to Hulu's customer service, innocently asking why my PlayStation 3 couldn't access Hulu.

This is the biggest crock ever! Who's to say some enterprising soul won't install Linux on his PS3 and then use Opera to watch video's? Or, use a anonymizer to mask the browser being used. It is clear that they want money from PS3 user's as they know there is an existing price model that PSN uses. Thanks, Hulu, now I really don't have a reason to use your service.

There have always been ways around things. Why would this be any different?

Most people would never do that, so their goal is still intact.

Hulu is a great idea, and I do hope that they get their act together and un-block the PS3 browser, I wonder if Wii's browser is blocked as well?
