In this week's Famitsu there was new information for Namco Bandai's upcoming Tales games Tales of Graces for the Wii and Tales of Vesperia for the PS3.

Concerning Tales of Graces, Famitsu reintroduces the characters revealed in Jump magazine last week. The red-headed girl's official name is Cheria Barnes, who uses knife-throwing skills and spells. Hubert Ozwell is the blue-haired male character who switches between double blades and twin pistols. Tales of Graces will also use the Chain Capacity system used in the Tales of Destiny remake, which is similiar to the Emotional Gauge used in Tales of Hearts. It is a fast and combo-heavy system that eschews TP for a set amount of points that decrease depending on the action taken, and recovers by resting in battle.

The Tales of Vesperia info concerns the new costumes for the game's characters, this time giving the beach costumes for the rest of the cast.

Vesperia

Yuri: Aloha Older Brother
Estelle: Eloquent One Piece
Rita: Casual Beach Girl
Raven: Gossiping Summer Man
Judith: Just Black Bikini
Flynn: Short-sleeved Prince, Technical Diver
Patty: Southern Rainbow Straw Girl

Graces

Cheria Barnes
18 years old
160 cm
47 Kg
Her styles are throwing knives artes and divine spells.
The granddaughter of the butler worker for the Lhant household. She has a cheerful and healpful personality. She is a childhood friend of Asbel and has faint feelings for him, but she isn't honest about it.

Hubert Ozwell
17 years old
171 cm
62 Kg
His styles are double-blade artes and twin pistol spells.
Asbel's biological younger brother of one year. As a child he was obedient, and built up and refined his characteristic patience and is now a major in the Strata Army.

There is also a new system, Hissatsuwaza (必殺技, or special moves). They don't elaborate on them much, so there's not much to say. I assume they're powerful attacks.

The game also uses Chain Capacity (CC), first used in the Tales of Destiny remake for the PS2.

    How does Chain capacity work?

Those two TOG characters seem cool, but is Cheria strictly a long-range fighter with her throwing knives,or will she be able to fight a close range too?

Once again the ladies get stuck with Nurse-casting duty. At least she can alternate into hucking divine lightning bolts or something. And "double-blade artes" into "twin pistol spells"? Hubert sounds a lot better now!

    Having just completed Vesperia the other day;

1). I'm a little disappointed in Graces from a graphics whore point of view and the characters aren't as appealing (Vesperia cast is fantastic!) but at the same time I'm still hyped to see how the Tales follow up to ToV goes down since the series is arguably moving from strength to strength.

2). I'm a sucker for alt. costumes so ToV PS3 is looking MIGHTY nice atm. I'm sorta hoping that it doesn't get localised so I wouldn't have to double-dip. =P.

You're not the only one, man. I will definitely buy ToV again on the PS3 because of the extra content...the 360 version looks like it didn't need to be full price now with all the things they are adding in the PS3 port.
