Apparently coming straight out of the blue, Executive Producer of MS Peter Bale has confimed to UK Broadsheet "The Telegraph" that they will be releasing a Music Streaming service similar to Spotify late this month. Although no news on the areas that will be permitted to enjoy this new feature, or what songs available, Peter was quick to point out that this service will NOT be the same as the upcoming Last.FM for LIVE later this year.

Microsoft seems to be committed to releasing a new music streaming service and one of the targeted platforms is said to be the Xbox 360 home gaming console. The company has begun to talk about the new service and the planned launch date is somewhere in late July.

Peter Bale, who is an executive producer for the software giant, told the Telegraph newspaper in the United Kingdom that “Music is an important area for Microsoft. We are looking at launching a music streaming service imminently.” He also unveiled the fact that the new, unnamed service “will be a similar principle to Spotify, but we are still examining how the business model will work.”

You can already do this by just streaming through your PC onto your Xbox... Though I doubt very many users ever do it. Programs like TVersity even let you stream YouTube, Hulu, etc. If it's a video, you have to go to the dashboard, but it'll stream audio while you're playing a game, just like how you can connect a MP3 player and listen to it in-game.
