Sega has confirmed the Western release dates for Platinum Games' highly-anticipated action game Bayonetta for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Were you one of the ones expecting to see the game in time for the holiday season? Unfortunately, you'll be waiting until January 2010 for North America and Europe. For the lucky Greppers in Japan or are importing, you'll be happy to know that you'll be getting the game this year on October 29th.

Hmmmm... Sega today has announced that Bayonetta, the Platinum Games' developed stylish action title for the Xbox 360/PS3, will get a bit of a delayed release in Western markets (North America, EU, etc.). The Japanese date is October 29th 2009, but in North America, it is confirmed that we won't see it until January 2010.

"Bayonetta is an extremely important new IP for SEGA and adds a new level of depth to our growing portfolio. As a result of market analysis we have taken a Publishing decision that January 2010 is the optimum release time in the Western Markets to maximize this exciting new title's potential," said Mike Hayes, President and COO for SEGA West.

First Mafia II, then Bioshock 2 and now this.

Modern Warfare 2 better be good, soon it'll be the only game out from October onwards.
