Sony Outsells Microsoft Once Again In The Games Division

Playstation 3 is not the only platform Sony has attached to their gaming market. This fact alone will always keep Sony in the leadership position for the videogame industry

This entire year Sony’s game division has been outselling Microsoft’s when it comes down to NPD numbers, but people only look at the Playstation 3 as if that’s Sony’s only platform which isn’t true

      Anyway, everyone else saw the faulty logic in the article, so it isn't worth arguing against it. It really is annoying how sites will pureposefully make horrible articles just to get attention and completely succeed.

      Unique thing about hiphopgamer is that they'll make horrible articles for BOTH sides. Wasn't there a 12-part mini-series about how great the 360 was not too long ago on that website? At least they spread the ignorance around evenly...

    Kinda fail considering that they have both the PSP and PS2 still on the market. Of course 3 platforms are going to outsell 1.

    With the PS3 alone, Sony has yet to outsell anyone this year. At least as far as I've heard (enlighten me).

      It's 3 to 2. Microsoft may have stopped supporting the original X Box, but that's their fault. =/

      Still, three should significantly outsell 2 in any case.

      Well, it could be fanboyish . . . or it could be trying to combat all the "Oh, Sony is SO fail lately they are going to go bankrupt they are a horrible company and just fail. Fail Sony failed epically . . . SONY = PHAIL!!!" By taking note that Sony has 3 systems out there and is far from "phail" just because the PS3 is facing a little bit of roughness every so often.

      Of course, considering the source, It's just not too wise to attribute logic.

    1) Continuing to support the origianl Xbox

    2) Not creating a handheld product

    Apple has ipods but is that their only product no so why isn't it apart of the revenue fact sheet. Sony has 3 platforms, microsoft has 1 and month after month the PS2, PSP, PS3 all represents Sony game division and that right there is the point of my article and also if you read the title you'll know that I was judging on a platform to platform basis.

        The fact of the matter is Microsoft has not entered the handheld market, so their sales are lower. DEAL WITH IT. For christ's sake, they don't even provide support for the original X-Box. That's all this article is proving.

THE ORIGINAL XBOX DOESN'T DO THAT, Plus the Xbox 360 has been out since 05 and so developers have more of a chance of generating a profit on the 360 than on the xbox. WHICH IS WHY YOU HARDLY SEE NO GAMES FOR IT ANY MORE, BECAUSE ITS POINTLESS FOR DEVELOPERS TO DO SO. Why are Microsoft going to waste money on making first party titles for a system no one buys any more.

      Obviously you do need to be told if you cant figure that out for yourself. The only thing that is failing here is your arguments, and there failing hard.

    Honestly I don't know how they do it, How does the Xbox 360 (for example) support itself? I know it has it's share of games and the whole Internet-compatibility-w00t-COD-Online-with-annoying-8-year-olds!!!1!11!!!11!1!

    How many SKU they sale is not important.
    Sony claims to lose money on each PS3 and Microsoft lost 1 B$ on their warranty extension alone... But Microsoft has a huge advantage on Sony , they have the gold subscription !
