Konami talks digital music distribution, reminds you about THEIR guitar/drum game

Reenee | June 06, 2007 | News | Company
This interview with Mike Rajna sheds some light on his views on music in games and some information on Konami distributing their game soundtracks online for purchase.

BUT, everyone seems to forgotten Konami makes music games too! Guitar Revolution and Drum Revolution are on their way!
I’m in charge of all music licensing in and out opportunities for Konami. I license all of the music for our music-driven games such as Dance Dance Revolution, Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol, and upcoming games such as Drum Revolution (in addition to various non music-driven games such as Brooktown High, etc.).

Don't know if it'll be a match for Guitar Hero though. Dunno if they're capable of pulling out any 'big guns'. Afterall, need I mention the ever-lovable ( ) Dog Contra?

Konami's Drum and Guitar music games are far, far more flexible than Guitar Hero and much more challenging, even if they only use three frets and do NOT use mainstream songs for the most part.

As for their drum game...well, don't be surprised if it's better than Rock Band's.

Sorry about changing your original submission title Reenee, I felt the article seemed to focus more on the digital music side of things so I made that the centerpiece of the subject. But I see we cannot forget about their own game series.
