Recent statements from Kojima himself has revealed that he will have direct involvement with the up coming PlayStation Portable title: MGS: Peace Walker. He assures us this is a Metal Gear Solid 5 class game.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising seems to be taking the story in a slightly different direction by expanding on Raiden’s story. While we are all scratching our heads at what exactly “Lightning Bolt Action” means, Kojima was recently quoted that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker continues the true Metal Gear Solid saga.

I sure as hell believe that from E3, heh. I mean...sequel to my favorite MGS game, MGS3. I need to borrow someone's PSP for this game. I may even go so far as to buy a PSP if push comes to shove.

Never played Portable Ops? Great MGS, while it almost feels like a spin-off it's the direct sequel though.

Sadly no, I haven't. No PSP on my end, I'm a DS'er. My brother has one, so I suppose whilst I wait for PW I can pick up Portable Ops. Great idea!

Portable Ops in a sense just wasn't MGS. If it can fully incorporate the essence of MGS, it'll be awesome!

It wasn't? It had Big Boss, characters from MGS3 (adding Roy Campbell was weird), Null (Gray Fox), Hayter voiced Snake, same gameplay from the console games, etc.

An MGS5 class game? I'll believe it when I see it.

Sequels to video games usually tend to move forward in terms of quality and features, but MGS:PW is for the PSP....It has to take some steps backwards from MGS4. So, for me, MGS:PW is just a sequel to MGS:PO, nothing more (at least for now). That's not a bad thing at all, though.

I really, really, really want MGS:PW to be great, but I'm remaining very skeptical until it's released. I don't want my hopes crushed...

Well, think of it this way. This game is set to take place after the events of MGS3, which was on the PS2, and the PSP can run PS2-like graphics. I'm sure this game will be jam-packed.

If they put out the quality they did with Portable Ops I am sure it will be great. Hideo is directly involved too.
