The Legend of Zelda will need to change if Nintendo want it to continue being successful inside and outside Japan. Twilight Princess did not do very well because it was not difficult enough compared to other Zelda games. Now in this article there is 4 ways to improve the next Zelda game and if Nintendo do implement them it could actually be the perfect RPG to be ever made.
The four ways Zelda can be improved is to change the setting first of all. Being always in Hyrule has gotten boring for and have already moved on.
Then add epic boss battles. Boss battles like The Shadow of The Colossus. Battles where you need to use your brain to defeat he enemy and not just button bash.
Change the art style. Like what they did with Wind Waker and not just something we have all seen before.
Insert online coop mode to get through quests. Also steal ideas from Blizzard, but will the hero actually feel like a hero using another players help?
Well if they insert all the features listed above then certainly this game will be the first to have all these amazing features and will go down in gaming history, but until then we can just dream.
Change the setting
While such a ridiculously awesome different redesign is obviously out of the cards, am I the only one who’s getting tired of the medieval castles and grassy plains look? The Final Fantasy franchise manages to reinterpret their universe for every installment, and this philosophy actually makes more sense for the Zelda series. Think about it: the story behind every game is that Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf are continuously reincarnated/brought back to life every X amount of years, so why has Hyrule looked basically the same since 1991? How many times do we have to revisit Kakariko Village and Death Mountain?
Epic boss battles
I bet a lot of people are thinking, “But the boss battles in Twilight Princess WERE awesome!” Sure, but they were also ridiculously easy and relied on the same do this pattern three times to slay the evil spider dance. As much as I loved the final boss battle(s) in the game, you could beat that last form by just repeating that cheap-ass roll around and slash him from behind trick over and over.
New art style
Okay, kids, you got the realistic-art-style Zelda game you’ve wanted since Ocarina of Time. And yes, it was gorgeous…though not if you stacked it against Gears of War, Resistance or any number of other top-tier games in the Holiday ’06 lineup. And yes, I’m sure that if Nintendo unlocks the full potential of the Wii’s horsepower and delivers us a true Wii Zelda game, it’s going to look “OMG radical!” Here’s the problem Nintendo faces: no matter how good the next Zelda will look (and I’d wager it’s not a whole lot better,) it’s not going to come out until Holiday ’08 at the earliest. By then, Gears of War will look ugly.
Paper Zelda, anyone?
Steal ideas from Blizzard
Let’s back up for a second: I’m not suggesting Nintendo turn this beloved franchise into World of Warcraft, per se. The last thing I want to do is collect forty Cuckoo eggs at the behest of Randomly Generated NPC Quest #549. Instead, what if the franchise borrowed more from the Phantasy Star series and let players team up online to play the game?

I think more strategy based combat, more item combinations, a more customisable Link, slightly (ever so slightly) more platform elements, a lot harder enemies, more mixed in missions (thus slightly less temple time) and more motion based controls.
Not what I would've done, but ok.
"Epic boss battles"
Now that's actually a pretty good idea.
"New art style"
I suppose that would be cool.
"Steal ideas from Blizzard"
Multiplayer Zelda? Sweet.
Epic Boss Battles: Heck yes!
New Art style: Perhaps a little risky, but worth a shot. Wasn't crazy about Wind Waker's art style.
Multiplayer: No. One hero, one story, thank you. That is what Zelda's about.
